Let's get started changing the industry...

"The apprenticeship was such an amazing opportunity for me and I can't believe how much I've learned! Thank you for always taking the time to teach me things before and after lessons. I am much more confident than when I started the apprenticeship. I am also more open minded than when I started. Thank you for your encouragement, for your teaching and for all of your conversations."

Mary Simon
Owner, The Mindful Dog MA

"When I reached out to John I took a leap of faith to further my education and career. John helped me see the world through a dog's perspective. He taught me how to understand canine behavior, apply methods to change them and get results. I know if ever there is a day I am stuck; John is just a phone call away to consult. Now my career is in my hands and I am grateful to have had this jumpstart."

Kelsey Roark
Professional Dog Trainer & Groomer

After years as a hobby trainer, I came into this industry almost a decade ago with a degree and years spent in the military, law enforcement and at a Fortune 500 company.

I quickly built my business quietly and effectively.

I was recognized by other professionals in the industry.

I was recommended by multiple veterinarians, was named an ambassador by one of the largest canine professional organizations on the planet, achieved recognition as member of the year, was named Chair of a Committee and voted on to the Board of Directors twice.

I entered what appeared to be a fractured industry. In reality, it was simply an environment where often the professionals that collaborated, respected and engaged with each other were silent.

Watching new trainers enter the industry confused, lost and frustrated concerned me... we were watching potential colleagues and future leaders burn out in less than 2-3 years or worse they became angry, unprofessional, caused controversy and brought unwarranted scrutiny on the professionals doing the right things in my opinion.

I began working and mentoring with ones that I could help by sharing some of the lessons I've learned over the years.

Then in hit me.

Let's challenge each other to Be a Professional Dog Trainer... period.

COVID pushed the boundaries of online training and I was doing it effectively for my clients...
